TTD plans digital procurement portal to streamline tenders

In a significant step towards transparency and administrative modernisation, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has initiated the development of a comprehensive Digital Procurement and Tender Management Portal aimed at streamlining its vast purchasing operations.

The proposed platform is expected to bring greater accountability, efficiency and technological sophistication to the procurement ecosystem that handles hundreds of transactions every year to support the temple of Lord Venkateswara.

The top echelons of the TTD held detailed deliberations on the prototype and design of the portal prepared by Radiant Infonet Private Limited, the firm entrusted with developing the digital framework. The discussions focused on integrating advanced technological features to ensure that the entire procurement and tendering process is carried out through a secure and fully digital interface.

Speaking to The Hindu, TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said that under the proposed system, suppliers interested in participating in tenders would first be required to register on the portal through an online verification mechanism. The credentials, experience and background of each applicant would then be rigorously scrutinised before granting eligibility, ensuring that only credible and qualified vendors are permitted to participate in procurement bids.

The initiative will help create a verified and reliable supplier database that can be used for future procurement activities, thereby strengthening institutional memory and vendor credibility.

The digital system will also play a crucial role in identifying and eliminating fraudulent suppliers and intermediaries, ensuring a level playing field for genuine vendors.

In a notable technological leap, the portal is expected to deploy Artificial Intelligence tools to analyse market trends, monitor price fluctuations and assess supply conditions, thereby enabling administrators to make more informed and cost-effective purchasing decisions.

The platform will integrate tender issuance, supply management and payment systems within a single digital framework, significantly reducing delays and bureaucratic bottlenecks. Faster digital payments are also expected to enhance trust among suppliers and encourage wider participation from qualified vendors across the country.

The initiative is expected to mark a decisive step towards building a transparent, faster and technology driven procurement architecture, while enabling quicker purchases and prompt payments without human intervention.
