Minister for Revenue Anagani Satya Prasad on Monday (January 5) said industrial units will be set up with investments to the tune of ₹26 lakh crore with the objective of providing 25 lakh jobs in the State.

Mr. Satya Prasad was participating in a series of development programmes in Anakapalli district along with Ministers Kollu Ravindra and Vangalapudi Anita and Anakapalli MP CM Ramesh.

He visited the new RDO Office at Addu Road junction and later inaugurated a hostel building constructed at ₹3.44 crore for Kasturba Gandhi Girls School at Nakkapalli. Later, the Minister launched a programme at ZP High School for the distribution of 2,628 bicycles to Class 10 students, distributing 985 bicycles to students from 14 schools.

He also participated in a programme for the distribution of ‘pattadar passbooks’ held on the school premises, and distributed the passbooks to the beneficiaries.

Speaking at a meeting, Mr. Satya Prasad said the government was making special efforts for the development of North Andhra, which was neglected post-bifurcation. He said the Chandrababu Naidu government has taken up 18 programmes over the past 19 months.

An amount of ₹50,000 crore was spent on the welfare of pensioners. Apart from this, it reopened Anna Canteens, launched the ‘Stree Shakti’ and ‘Talliki Vandanam’ schemes and conducted Mega DSC and police recruitment. Reforms were introduced in the Revenue Department to resolve land issues by delegating some of the powers to lower level officials.

The Land Titling Act, brought out by the previous government, was abolished and a fresh resurvey was conducted. Based on this, 22 lakh pattadar passbooks were granted with the official seal of the government. He said the registration of hereditary land was being done at low cost and appealed to the public to avail of the opportunity.

He said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan were doing their best to make Andhra Pradesh the top State in the country with the assistance and cooperation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

District in-charge Minister Kollu Ravindra said that making of Addu Road Junction as a ‘revenue division’ has paved the way for development of the region, quick decisions and speedy clearance of public grievances. Full-fledged operations from the division would begin in June. The establishment of Google Data Centre would contribute to the economic development of the region.

Home Minister Anita and Anakapalli MP CM Ramesh also spoke.
