Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will host a dinner for Congress MLAs and MLCs on Tuesday (March 10) to mark the completion of six years as president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

“There is a dinner meet tomorrow and a Congress Legislature Party meeting the day after,” he said. Under his leadership, the Congress returned to power in the 2023 Assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters at Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi on Monday (March 9), Mr. Shivakumar said he would organise a separate dinner for defeated candidates, district presidents, and block presidents on another day.

On being asked about his meetings in Delhi, the KPCC chief said, “I meet everyone when I come to Delhi. You (the media) report that I was made to wait by the Delhi leaders.”

Stating that there was a wedding in a friend’s family, he said, “Hence, I came to Delhi on Sunday (March 8). I met the Assam Pradesh Congress president today. There are many programmes today, including the induction of several leaders into the party,” he said.
