Ramachandran on Monday inaugurated the distribution of 8,698 free laptops to college students of Virudhunagar district. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the laptops with higher configuration were not just to help the students in their academic learning, but also would be a direct catalyst to generate employment and their socio-economic development. It would help the students to upskill themselves in the field of information technology, software development, data entry, digital marketing, graphic design, coding and web designing. The laptops will help to augment the family income of the students and reduce the urban-rural divide. The Minister gave away 573 laptops on Monday. Virudhunagar Collector N.O. Sukhaputra MLAs A.R.R. Srinivasan, S. Thangpandian, G. Ashokan, were among those who were present.
