London, March 8: The Music Publishers Association of London have decided to send an ultimatum to the British Broadcasting Company stating that, unless the Company agree to royalties on popular music, which has been the subject of a long discussion, they will withdraw permission to broadcast their copyright numbers immediately. It is stated that, this will mean the immediate exclusion of all dance music from wireless programme. The publishers say they are not asking a higher fee and have even agreed to accept lower fees than last year, but could not afford to agree to the Company’s proposed rates. It is declared that the Broadcasting Company have reduced the life of popular songs to a few weeks.
