The Shankar Nagar police arrested six persons who were involved in the selling of ganja to college students in Pallavaram, Chromepet, and Pammal areas. A senior official of the Tambaram Police Commissionerate said the police officials of Shankar Nagar in Pammal received information that ganja was being sold along the Adyar river of Pozhichalur regularly. Based on this a police team arrested Kishore and Ashok Kumar of Pozhichalur. On questioning the two accused, it was revealed that the two had been buying ganja from a source from Tada in Andhra Pradesh. They also informed of a rival team of Gokul, Viswa, and Samuel from Pallavaram, and Venkatesan from Kundrathur, involved in ganja sales and had a rivalry due to business competition. Following this information the Shankar Nagar police arrested the four persons. The police team seized more than eight kg of ganja from the six persons.
