RAJU Rallies, awareness programmes, and felicitation ceremonies marked the International Women’s Day celebrations in the city on Sunday (March 8, 2026). The district administration, government departments, educational institutions, and organisations came together to mark the occasion. Officials from the district administration organised the International Women’s Day celebrations in a grand manner at the AU Convention Centre on Sunday. District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad said that both the Central and the State governments are providing significant support to women through schemes such as ‘Bal Sanjeevani’, ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’, ‘Stree Shakti’ and ‘Thalliki Vandanam’.
