A 42-year-old man was killed in the Sri Lankan Tamils Rehabilitation camp in Gummidipoondi on Saturday (March 7, 2026) night. The murder led to the camp residents staging a road roko on the GNT Road on Sunday (March 8) affecting traffic for a few hours. A senior police official of the Tiruvallur district said Sivakumar alias Kanna was the chairman of the camp management committee of the Sri Lankan Tamil rehabilitation camp located at Pethikuppam near Gummidipoondi where more than 3,000 people are residing.
