Shiroor Mutt seer Vedavardhan Tirtha Swami, who is set to ascend the Paryaya Peeta of Udupi Krishna Mutt on January 18, said in his two-year administration of the Krishna Mutt more devotees will be involved as volunteers in different services.

Speaking to reporters after taking part in the ‘Tulabhara Seva’ at the house of former Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura in Mangaluru, the seer said people can come and stay for a period in the mutt and volunteer in serving food and regulating the queue of devotees.

“This is not a Paryaya of the (Shiroor) mutt, but it’s yours (devotees). Instead of complaining, you should get involved in different services of the Krishna Mutt and understand sanity and positive aspects of its practices, rituals, and culture,” the seer said.

Devotees should also join hands of the Krishna Mutt in keeping the premises clean.

The seer said devotees wishing to volunteer will be made to register their names on the mutt’s portal. The mutt will facilitate devotees volunteering in the Krishna Mutt’s services.

The seer on Sunday entered Mangaluru, the last place the seer was coming as part of his pre-Paryaya tour. There will be civic reception for the seer in Mangaluru on January 8. The seer will enter Udupi on January 9 and ascend the Paryaya Peeta on January 18.
