The Patiala House Courts on Saturday ordered the release of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) worker Siddharth Avdhoot, who was arrested in connection with the February 20 “shirtless” protest at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi. On March 5, Duty Magistrate Charan Salwan granted bail to Mr. Avdhoot on a bail bond of ₹50,000 and a surety bond of the same amount. On Saturday, following the verification of the bonds, the court ordered his release. Mr. Avdhoot was among the five IYC workers arrested from Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, in connection with the case. He remained in police custody for nine days. According to the Delhi police, Mr. Avdhoot allegedly played an important role in coordinating the protest, including the design and printing of the T-shirts worn by the demonstrators.
