According to officials, the kiln owner had reportedly paid an advance of ₹30,000 to ₹35,000 per person to bring them to work at the site. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT A total of 78 bonded labourers, including 21 children, were rescued from a brick kiln in Tiruvallur during a raid conducted by district authorities. Officials said the rescued persons included 32 men, 25 women, 10 boys and 11 girls. All the labourers are from Bolangir district of Odisha and had been working under bonded conditions at the kiln since January.
