A history-sheeter in Sivaganga was shot and apprehended by the police while he allegedly tried to attack the police personnel. The accused, identified as Oorkavalan, 31, from Mathur near Sivaganga and current residing in Michaelpattinam, was an A-plus category history-sheeter. He has 33 cases pending against him, including three murder cases and two cases of attempted murder. The police had been on the lookout for him in connection with three cases pending at the Thiruppachethi police station.
