Student injured after falling from second floor of school building in Attingal

A 15-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after falling from the second floor of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Attingal, on Monday.

The incident occurred around 1.30 pm at the higher secondary block of the school. The Class X student suffered severe injuries to her leg. She was immediately rushed to the Government Taluk Hospital in Attingal and was later referred to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for specialised treatment.

The police are yet to ascertain whether the student jumped or accidentally fell from the building. The incident took place during the lunch break. The police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances behind the incident.
