Twenty-four persons have been arrested as part of a large-scale crackdown on cyber fraud networks under Operation Cy-Hunt 2.0 within the Kannur City police limits. The State-wide operation targets individuals who provide their bank accounts for cyber fraud, as well as those who withdraw money obtained through such scams using cheques and through ATMs. The operation was launched after the cyber operations wing of the State police examined data from the National Cyber Crime Reporting portal and identified accounts being operated from Kerala that were linked to cyber fraud activities. The operation was conducted on the instructions of District Police Chief (Kannur City) P. Nidhinraj.
