Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Gurajada Vizianagaram Vice-Chancellor V. V. Subbarao on Friday advised engineering colleges to encourage students to pursue relevant new courses in view of the significant changes taking place in the global job market due to Artificial Intelligence and other technological advancements. He was the chief guest at a training programme for placement officers organised by the Andhra Pradesh Training and Placement Officers Consortium at Lendi Institute of Engineering and Technology in Vizianagaram.

Speaking on the occasion, he said emerging technologies had prompted software companies to adopt new strategies while selecting students during campus recruitment drives. Founder CEO of Quantum AI Global Sanjay Chittore said students who focus on new skills and innovation need not worry about career opportunities, as new avenues would continue to emerge despite the growing influence of advanced technologies. Consortium president N. V. Surendra Babu, college principal V. V. Rama Reddy, dean G. Prakash Babu and others were present.
