In a swift action, Bengaluru police on Friday rescued a 56-year-old woman who accidentally fell into a 25-foot-deep pit near a public park in west Bengaluru’s Nagarabhavi.

According to police, the woman, identified as Sudha Parimala, fell into the pit during the early hours of Friday. Her son immediately alerted the 112 emergency helpline, seeking assistance.

Officers at the control room alerted the Chandra Layout Police Station, following which ASI Srinivas Murthy and head constable Vinoda of the Hoysala-61 patrol team were dispatched. The officers reached the location within four minutes and located the woman inside the pit with the help of the mobile phone that she was carrying.

The police used a rope to safely pull the woman out of the pit. She was later shifted to a private hospital for treatment. Police officials said the swift response of the patrol team helped save the woman from a potentially dangerous situation.
