The State-level awards for ‘Little KITEs,’ a project implemented by the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) in public schools, were announced on Friday.

AMMHSS Idayaranmula, Pathanamthitta, has been selected as the best school unit in the State. GHS Kurumpala, Wayanad district, secured the second position, while GGHSS Cotton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram, bagged the third place.

According to an official release, AMMHSS, Idayaranmula, secured the top spot for the second consecutive year, primarily due to its remarkable social interventions. GHS Kurumpala was placed second following its excellence in conducting specialised training sessions for children with special needs, as well as orientation programmes for other students and parents.

Schools securing the first, second and third positions at the State level will receive cash prizes of ₹2.5 lakh, ₹2 lakh and ₹1.5 lakh respectively.

The award winners were selected by a committee chaired by KITE chief executive officer K. Anvar Sadath. The awards will be distributed during the Little KITEs State Camp to be held during the summer vacation. The complete list of winners is available on the website: www.kite.kerala.gov.in.
