DYFI Dakshina Kannada Secretary Santosh Bajal | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT Terming Karnataka Budget 2026-27 as the one that does not provide any impetus to coastal Karnataka development, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) on Friday said the Budget has completely ignored the government healthcare sector in Dakshina Kannada district. In a statement here, DYFI Dakshina Kannada District Committee Secretary Santosh Bajal said the Budget has completely ignored the demand for a government medical college in the district. Though approval was given for establishing a 300-bed hospital for the proposed medical college at Puttur, not a single rupee was earmarked for the project.
