Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLC Bhumireddy Ramagopal Reddy brought to the notice of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu the failure of a section of vigilance and enforcement officials to act on complaints against corrupt officials.

Mr. Reddy referred to the instance of twelve persons who were allegedly involved in illegal transportation of the rice meant for public distribution across Kadapa district. “The persons belonging to YSRCP continue to indulge in the crime by greasing the palms of the officials of the V&E,” he charged.

In the letter submitted to Mr. Naidu on Monday (January 05, 2026), he alleged that his complaint against the corrupt persons had become a ‘cash cow’ for the ‘equally-corrupt vigilance officials’.

Apart from the smuggling of rice, the officials never probed into the allegations in Pulivendula municipality and the indiscriminate transportation of limestone from Mangampeta to Chennai via Renigunta.

“Even the Central Vigilance Commission’s directive to probe the poor quality of roads laid during the previous YSRCP regime have not been taken up,” Mr. Ramagopal Reddy pointed out, while appealing to Mr. Naidu to act tough against the corrupt.
