Tirumangalam-Rajapalayam four-lane highway to have one median opening; this will make it safer for speeding vehicles

By June-end when the Tirumangalam-Rajapalayam fourway project gets completed, it would be the first stretch of highway in southern districts to have only one opening of the median for the entire 70-km making it safe for road users.

The other two four-laned highways from Madurai connecting Kanniyakumari and Thoothukudi are dotted with scores of openings on the median allowing vehicles to cut through the highway or make right turn or U-turn. This often leads to accidents, sometimes claiming lives.
