Minister for Higher Education R. Bindu will inaugurate multiple projects at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS) on Saturday. They include a student amenities centre, amphitheatre, and art gallery on the main campus at Kalady. The student amenities centre was constructed at a cost of ₹4.6 crore. The centre has office space, cafeteria and recreational facilities for students, according to the varsity authorities. The facility was set up utilising the Plan fund. The amphitheatre has been designed to hold various art events, including theatre and dance performances. It was set up under the corporate social responsibility scheme of Cochin International Airport Limited, they said. The art gallery will be open to students and faculty members to display their creative works. They can hold art exhibitions at the venue. The aim is to offer a unique art space for creative minds, according to the authorities. The Minister will also inaugurate the newly introduced integrated teacher education programme on the occasion.
