Small-scale foundries in Coimbatore begin to see the impact of spike in aluminium prices

With aluminium prices on the rise for the last few months, the small and micro foundries in Coimbatore are beginning to feel the impact of volatile raw material price.

Coimbatore Tiny and Small Foundry Owners Association president A. Shiva Shanmughakumar says there are four or five types of foundries that do aluminium castings, such as induction furnace, gravity die casting, pressure die casting, and hand moulding. There are several micro foundries that do aluminium parts that are used in larger foundries.
