A person allegedly murdered his son at Anegundi village in Mudigere taluk on the night of January 3. The police identified the deceased as Pradeep Achar, 29, and the accused as Ramesh Achar. Father and son often quarelled at home, and after one such heated argument, Achar allegedly hit his son with a lethal weapon while he was in an inebriated state. The accused’s wife was not at home at the time of the incident. The incident came to light when neighbours noticed the dead body in front of his house on January 4 morning. Senior police officers, including Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Dayama, visited the spot. The Balur police took the accused into custody and registered a case.
