Intermediate student found dead in Saroornagar

A 17-year-old Intermediate second year student was found dead at his residence in Lingojiguda, Saroornagar, on Wednesday (March 4).

The deceased was identified as Gautam Sharma, 17, a resident of Manipur Colony in Lingojiguda. Police said he had recently travelled to Yadagirigutta to visit family members during the Holi festival. According to the police, the boy may have taken the extreme step as he was allegedly upset over not performing well in his Intermediate second year Mathematics 2A examination. Family members shifted him to a private hospital, where the duty doctor declared him brought dead.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination. A case has been registered and investigation is underway, said Saroornagar Inspector Saidi Reddy.
