Kannada film titled Raitara Makkalige Hennu Kodi, which revolves around the social problem of men involved in farming not being considered suitable for marriage, will be released in Hubballi on Friday. Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Thursday, producer and director of the film Kemparama Hediyala said that it is a story of a son of the soil. “The lead character of the film is a farmer whose marriage proposals get rejected as he is into farming. Although disappointed, he decides to stay back in the village and involves himself in progressive farming and forms a cooperative society for farmers,” he said. “However, his initiatives do not go well with the landlord who exploits farmers. The film revolves around the protagonist’s fight against exploitation, the challenges that he faces, the impact on his family life and his ultimate success,” he said. Mr. Hediyala said that out of the 72 artists in the film, 68 are from North Karnataka region, including lead actor Jagadish Mooki, Ashwini and Mohan Das. The film has cinematography and music by Rohan Desai, dance by Akul and Ajay Jai Krishna and lights by Sanket Nayak. He added that there are four songs in the film. Shooting has been taken up mainly around villages near Hubballi and Belagavi and also in the border areas of Maharashtra. Cinematographer Rohan Desai, actors Jagadish Mooki, Ashwini and Mohan Das were present at the press conference.
