Karthikeyan, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, launching the distribution of buttermilk packets to personnel. | Photo Credit: Special arrangement The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) recently launched the distribution of buttermilk to its personnel to beat the summer heat. The buttermilk distribution scheme during the summer was introduced in 2012. G. Karthikeyan, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, inaugurated the scheme. The State government has allocated over ₹35 lakh for the distribution of buttermilk over a period of 120 days. During this period, more than 4,500 buttermilk packets will be provided daily to traffic police personnel in the morning and evening.
