A new idol of Sri Sharadamba sahitha Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya will be installed at the Paladhara-Panchadhara, a sub-temple of Srisailam temple, at 10 a.m. on March 8. The consecration of the idol will be done under the supervision of Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham pontiff Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Swamy. Srisailam temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao has said as per the suggestion of the temple’s Vaidic committee, the consecration ceremony will be held for three days starting Friday (March 6). On Friday morning, Yagashala pravesham, Ganapati Pooja, Punyahavachanam and other rituals will be held. On the second day also, various rituals will be performed throught out the day. On March 8, Adhivasa Homam, Purnahuthi and other rituals will be performed after which the idol will be consecrated. Mr. Srinivasa Rao urged devotees to participate in the event.
