Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the two women who died in the recent explosion of a cylinder used to fill helium gas into balloons near Mysuru palace. He made the announcement when his attention was drawn to their deaths. It may be mentioned here that three persons, including the balloon seller and two women, died in the incident, which happened on December 25, 2025.
