The District Police have arrested a lecturer of a pre-university college on the charge of sexually harassing a student by luring her with the promise of a New Year gift. The accused has been identified as Rajkumar Kumbar, an Economics lecturer at the pre-university college in Afzalpur taluk of Kalaburagi district. According to the police, the incident occurred on January 1. Based on a complaint lodged by the student, a case was registered at the Afzalpur Police Station on Saturday. Police sources said that the accused has been arrested. He was produced before court which has remanded him in judicial custody. Investigation is under way.
