DMK MP Tiruchi Siva speaks in Rajya Sabha during the Budget Session, in New Delhi.

DMK on Wednesday (March 4, 2026) evening announced its candidates for the biennial election to Rajya Sabha.

Three time MP Tiruchi N. Siva and a key spokesperson Constantine Ravindran are the candidates. It is a record of sorts for Mr. Siva, who will be entering the Rajya Sabha for the fifth time.

The DMK has allotted one seat each to the Congress and the DMDK. Thursday (March 5, 2026) is the last date for filing of nominations for the biennial polls.
