Karungal police have arrested a woman and her son for defrauding over 70 people of nearly 300 sovereigns of gold, by running a pawn shop at Mullanginavilai in Kanniyakumari district. A complaint was lodged at Kanniyakumari District Superintendent of Police (SP) on February 27 (Friday), alleging that a man operating a pawn shop under the name “SAN” at Mullanginavilai had cheated several individuals by failing to return their pledged gold ornaments.
