Sources in the MNM said their demands were received cordially and hoped they would be allotted a respectable number of seats. “We have presented a list of constituencies, mostly in metro cities. We hope they respond favourably,” a party functionary said. Despite joining the DMK alliance in 2024, the party did not contest the Lok Sabha election, but its leader Kamal Haasan was elected to the Rajya Sabha. The party is hopeful it can contest in the upcoming Assembly election on its ‘torch light’ symbol.
