Residents from 8 village stage protest opposing garbage dumping near Ilayangudi lake

Residents from eight villages staged a protest here on Wednesday opposing the establishment of a garbage dump in the lake area near Ilayangudi.

In the Ilayankudi Town Panchayat of Sivaganga district, collected waste was previously dumped at a yard near the Electricity Board office. Currently, as a sewage treatment plant has been constructed there, garbage is being dumped along roadsides due to a lack of sufficient space.
