Founder-Trustee of TANKER (Tamilnad Kidney Research) Foundation Georgi Abraham, a renowned nephrologist, received the Karl D. Nolph Lifetime Achievement Award at the 46th Annual Dialysis Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, on February 27, in recognition of his contributions to the field of nephrology. Dr. Abraham pioneered Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) in India. He was instrumental in introducing and establishing CAPD in the country during the early 1990s, making life-saving dialysis treatment more accessible and affordable for patients suffering from kidney failure.
