Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Wednesday (March 4, 2026) inaugurated completed development works worth ₹147.68 crore in Salem district through video conferencing from Chennai.

Following the virtual inauguration, Minister for Tourism R. Rajendran participated in the inauguration of the newly constructed ₹31.08-crore Nurses Training School and Students’ Hostel building at the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital premises. The training school comprises three classrooms, six laboratories, a library, an audio-visual room and a computer laboratory. The hostel has 100 rooms, along with a gymnasium and a modern kitchen. The facility will benefit 100 students per year, accommodating a total of 300 students pursuing the three-year diploma course.
