Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said he will appear before the Delhi Assembly’s Committee of Privileges on Friday in connection with the inauguration of a British-era ‘phansi-ghar’ (execution room) on the Assembly premises in 2022.

The former Chief Minister demanded that the proceedings be livestreamed. In a letter to the committee’s chairman, Mr. Kejriwal wrote: “My appearance is without prejudice to my legal and constitutional rights, remedies, objections and contentions, all of which are expressly reserved. In the interest of transparency and public accountability, I request that the proceedings of the committee in the present matter be livestreamed.”
