The real picture

The United States and Israel audaciously claim that their aggression against Iran is intended to neutralise an ‘existential threat’ to Israel, prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, and ‘liberate the Iranian people’. Equally disturbing is the apparent support of Europe and West Asia for this war. History will judge harshly Russia’s war in Ukraine driven by territorial ambitions, Israel’s occupation of Gaza and its oppression, and now this reckless attack, justified with questionable excuses. It is disheartening that we seem to have lost our moral compass, remaining silent while prioritising economic and political interests over justice.

The UN has failed

Although UN chief António Guterres has termed the airstrikes as a violation of international law, the perpetrators do not care at all. If no one listens to the UN, then what is the purpose of the body?
