Minister for Natural Resources S. Regupathy on Tuesday said the Congress was well aware that its members can ‘enter the Assembly’ only if it allied with the DMK in Tamil Nadu. Speaking to journalists at Pudukottai, Mr. Regupathy said the Congress high command also knew they would have ‘political status’ by aligning with the DMK. Hence, the Congress would not like to lose that stature.
