Fire broke out from Thoothukudi Thermal power plant on Tuesday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT Even as the renovation of the fire-ravaged first and the second units of Tuticorin Thermal Power Station (TTPS) is going on, one of the two conveyor belts carrying coal to the remaining three units was destroyed in the fire that broke out in the early hours of Tuesday. Of the 5 X 210 MW units, the first two units were destroyed in the fire accident last year and the restoration of these damaged units is going on with remaining three units generating 630 MW electricity.
