Arjun Pandian assumed charge as the 25th District Collector of Kasaragod on Tuesday morning (March 3). He took over from outgoing Collector K. Inbasekar at the Civil Station at 10 a.m.

A 2017-batch Kerala cadre IAS officer, Mr. Pandian, was serving as the District Collector of Thrissur prior to his new posting. He has earlier held key positions, including Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary and Labour Commissioner.

Speaking after assuming office, Mr. Pandian said he was taking charge with “great happiness and high expectations”. Describing Kasaragod as a district with vast potential, he said efforts would begin immediately to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections. He added that development initiatives would be pursued in consultations with officials, elected representatives, and the public, ensuring collective participation.

He said the affection and cooperation extended by the people of Thrissur had strengthened his confidence, and that the experience gained there would energise him in his new role. Appealing for the support of all sections in Kasaragod, he said that he strives to serve every district as if it were his own.

A native of Elappara in Idukki, Mr. Pandian holds a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from TKM College of Engineering, Kollam. He is the son of Pandian and Usha Kumari. His wife, Dr. Anu, is a medical professional.
