Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan called on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the latter’s residence at Undavalli on Tuesday to review key issues relating to Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Rural Water Supply (RWS), and Forest departments.

The meeting, held as part of the ongoing consultations during the Legislative Assembly session, focused on the progress of works under the Jal Jeevan Mission, utilisation of allocated funds, and financial provisions for the development of roads under the Panchayat Raj Department. Discussions were also held on constituency-wise allocation of funds and the status of implementation.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan briefed Mr. Naidu on the execution of “magic drains” in various gram panchayats across the State. He explained that the construction of such drains in all the panchayats would help streamline sanitation management and improve hygiene standards in the rural areas.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan also raised the issue of desilting drainage channels under the Irrigation Department. He suggested that desilting works be taken up during the summer so as to complete them before farmers begin sowing operations, thereby ensuring smooth water flow and better agricultural outcomes.

The Deputy Chief Minister further apprised the Chief Minister about the progress of the  Healing And Nurturing Units for Monitoring, Aid and Nursing of Wildlife (HANUMAN) project being implemented by the Forest Department.
