The J.J. Nagar police nabbed three minor boys for allegedly pelting stones at a religious procession on Sunday (January 5, 2026).

The accused are aged between 14 and 15 years. Police said further investigation is under way to ascertain the motive behind the incident.

The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. near VS Garden under the limits of the J.J. Nagar police station. A girl who was part of the Om Shakti devotees participating in the procession sustained head injuries in the stone-pelting.

Tension prevailed for some time after devotees gathered outside the police station demanding strict legal action against those involved. Senior police officers intervened and pacified the crowd, following which security was heightened in the area.

The J.J. Nagar police later registered an FIR and conducted a spot inspection at the location where the stone-pelting took place before zeroing in on the accused.
