Amid the escalating violence in West Asia, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday (March 2, 2026) urged all the expatriate from Kerala to fully comply with the instructions given by the rulers and local administrations of the country in which they reside. They should be keep in constant contact with Indian embassies and consulates and accept only official information provided by them.

Expressing heartfelt solidarity with the people in West Asian countries, he appealed to the Kerala diaspora not to believe or spread baseless news or rumours through social media or otherwise. The State government has extended full support to the expatriates and their families back home. The government is coordinating with the Union Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safety of the expatriates.

The State government has also requested the members of the Loka Kerala Sabha in the Gulf countries to make necessary interventions to help people. Emphasising that there is at least one person related to the Gulf countries in every household in Kerala, he wished that rulers in the respective countries would be able to overcome the crises through wise decisions based on humanity and mutual understanding.
