North Karnataka has strong exports potential in international markets, KCCI president G.K. Adappagoudar has said. Mr. Adappagoudar said that North Karnataka produces jaggery, engineering goods, agricultural produce and handicrafts, which have strong potential in international markets. He urged participants to gain knowledge about export procedures, quality standards, packaging, logistics and global market trends to become successful exporters. He promised that KCCI will extend full support to entrepreneurs willing to take up exports, according to a press release. He was speaking after inaugurating a six-day Export Management Training Programme, supported by the Central government’s RAMP scheme, that was inaugurated in Hubballi on Monday. The programme was jointly organised by the Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC), Bengaluru, the District Industries Centre (DIC), Dharwad, and the Karnataka Vyaparodyama Sangha, Hubballi. Deputy Director of VTPC Dharwad T.S. Mallikarjun highlighted the export promotion initiatives and services offered by VTPC. He stated that “Karnataka ranks first in the country in service exports, recording exports worth 1,27,185 million U.S. $ from April 2025 to December 2025.” He said that in the merchandise sector, the State exported goods worth 26,065 million U.S. $ during the same period, securing the fourth position nationally. He said that entrepreneurs performing well in domestic markets can succeed internationally by identifying suitable products and markets. Vice-president of KCCI S.G. Kammar noted that some participants from previous export management training programmes have gone on to become successful exporters. He encouraged trainees to effectively utilise the programme to expand and strengthen their businesses. As many as 30 trainees from various districts are participating in the training programme. Assistant secretary Nandeesh Annigeri , KCCI vice-president Veeranna Kallur and senior export advisor of VTPC Aravind Bhat and others were present.
