The 32nd Actors Awards (formerly Screen Guild Awards) were announced on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Ryan Coogler’s Sinners won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, beating Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which was considered to be the frontrunner after earlier wins during the pre-Oscars gala. Along with that, in a surprising turn, the lead actor of the vampire thriller, Michael B. Jordan won the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor honour which was expected to go to Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme. Historically, Actor Awards winners in film categories have gone on to win Oscars for acting 75% of the time. The results of the Actor Awards could turn influential for the Academy Awards with its voting going on till Thursday. Meanwhile, Jessie Buckley bagged Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a leading role for Hamnet and Sean Penn, Amy Madigan won supporting actor awards for One Battle After Another and Weapons respectively. Veteran actor Harrison Ford was honoured with the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award which was presented by actor Woody Harrelson. In television awards, the late Catherine O’Hara was posthumously honored as the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Comedy for her role as a movie producer in the Hollywood satire, The Studio. The drama series, The Pitt bagged the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series with actor Noah Wyle taking home Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. The Actor Awards are handed out by members of the SAG-AFTRA actors union. Winners of the award are closely watched because actors make up the biggest group of voters for the Academy Awards on March 15.
