Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy exhorted the Telugu people settled/working in the Persian Gulf to be on utmost alert in view of the escalated tensions in the region.

He asked the Telugu people to follow the safety guidelines issued by the embassies from time to time and stay safe. The Telangana government would coordinate with the Central government to evacuate people from the region if tensions further escalate and emergency situation arises.

Mr. Revanth Reddy said the State government was monitoring the situation arising in Iran and other Persian Gulf countries constantly and asked the officials concerned to be prepared to take necessary steps in close coordination with the Centre.

Officials were directed to consult the Indian embassies and consulates in the affected regions. The safety of the Telangana-origin people was of utmost priority to the State government, he said, wishing that everyone hailing from the State stayed safe.
