Jawahirullah on Sunday condemned the United States and Israel’s attack on Iran that resulted in the killing of its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In a statement, Mr. Jawahirullah said, “It constitutes a blatant violation of the sovereignty of an independent nation. If this military action was undertaken without the authorisation of the United Nations, it sets a dangerous precedent by violating international law and the fundamental principles enshrined in the UN Charter.” He said U.S and Israel must “immediately cease all military operations”. “The international community must urgently intervene to de-escalate the situation and restore stability. All disputes must be resolved through diplomatic channels and peaceful negotiations. The United Nations Security Council should convene an emergency meeting to take necessary measures to ensure regional peace,” he said.
