Maheshwar Rao | Photo Credit: FILE PHOTO The East City Corporation on Sunday announced plans to develop 50 km of pedestrian pathways in the Mahadevapura zone within the next two months, following instructions from Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao. Mr. Rao, speaking after flagging off a 10-km pedestrian walk from Phoenix Mall to Hope Farm in Whitefield, said footpath development along metro corridors would benefit citizens. He directed officials to remove obstacles, work on road-widening issues, clear encroachments, and ensure pedestrian safety and assured that necessary funds would be provided. The GBA chief encouraged partnerships with corporate organisations to expedite work.
