Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) B. Shivadhar Reddy highlighted the need for spreading cyber safety awareness in a collaborative manner by harnessing technology-driven initiatives to effectively rein in rising cybercrimes.

He called upon the district police to implement the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate’s cybercrime prevention initiative – ‘Cyber Simba’ to prevent cybercrimes in an effective manner.

The DGP was addressing a crime review meeting at the Police Training Centre in Khammam on Sunday.

He highlighted the Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau’s digital initiatives to prevent cybercrimes and aid cybercrime investigation as part of a collaborative strategy to combat the growing menace of cybercrimes. The DGP listed out various initiatives of the State police to curb drug menace and prevent road accidents.

Earlier, the DGP inaugurated the Police Welfare Sports Complex and new police staff quarters in the police headquarters in Khammam.

Multi Zone-I Inspector General S. Chandrasekhar Reddy and Khammam Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt and several others were present.
