Two persons on a light commercial vehicle were killed after it hit a median and collided with another freight vehicle and a government bus on the other carriage way on Tiruchi-Chennai National Highway near Irungalur in the district in the early hours on Sunday. The police gave the names of the victimas as S. Rajkiran, 30, driver, and S. Jayapandi, 33, both of Theni district. The two were returning to Theni district after unloading grapes at Panruti in Cuddalore district when the accident occurred.
